There are many benefits to doing an overseas internship with BeatBrdg, and these include:

BeatBrdg Internships was born out of a frustration at the lack of opportunities for the best students and graduates to be able to access the music industry.
The music industry is one of the leading creative industries in the world, yet those with a passion for the industry find it almost impossible to find their way in without the right experience, something that was notoriously hard to secure.
Combining over 30 years worth of experience across all sectors of the industry in the UK, US, Berlin, Amsterdam and Bangkok, BeatBrdg set out to change this, leveraging our connections and expertise to help develop the next generation of industry taste-makers, leaders and professionals.

Our goal is to deliver experience that fits your internships, and that means that you choose the city you intern in, the length of internship that you do, when you start, and the sector that you intern in. With that information we will identify the partners that you are most suited to, to give you the best experience. We want you to explore your passions and that means giving you the choice and flexibility to build your internship with BeatBrdg serving as your guide.
Our programs are professional, well-structured, and provide successful applicants with life-changing opportunities that not only add value to their future careers, but also help develop soft-skills like confidence, and personal growth.
Your tuition / fees, helps us deliver that service, and go towards every element of the program, including internship arrangement, pre-internship and overseas support, and the running of our alumni network that provides work and further internship opportunities.
To get the most out of your experience, you need to be able to communicate clearly to both learn and understand, so a high level of spoken English is required for all cities. We do not require an IELTS or TOEFL qualification, but do assess your English level during your video/telephone interview.
If you do not believe your English level is high enough, but speak German, Dutch or Thai, why not apply to intern there, and we will place you into a local-language team.
Of course! If your application is accepted then we guarantee to deliver your internship by placing you with one of our industry partners in the sector you have requested, for the length of internship you have requested, in the city of your choice. That is the BeatBrdg guarantee.
If we fail to deliver this promise, we will refund your tuition / fees in full.
WHO CAN APPLY?
BeatBrdg programs are already oversubscribed and so first and foremost you really need to have a burning passion for the music industry to apply.
Aside from this, you should be over the age of 18 by the start date of your internship. (If you will be between 17 and 18 at this time, you can still apply though we will request written permission from your parent or guardian).
You must also legally be able to remain in your selected internship city until your internship finishes, and you must have the appropriate visa in place before you begin your internship. (You can find more info on visas in the resources section)
We prioritise applications from students and recent graduates, but are happy to consider applications from applicants considering changing career, or those already working in the music industry looking to change direction.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applicants are accepted into our programs on a rolling basis, though we recommend applying no later than 2/3 months before your desired start date for visa purposes. Places fill up in advance so we suggest that you apply as early as possible! All of our start dates are available on our destination pages.
The importance of your interview cannot be overstated, as it gives us the opportunity to learn about your motivations and internship / career goals, and gives you the opportunity to make sure that we can help you achieve those same goals. During your interview we get to know about what drives you, your skills and ambitions, and that helps us determine whether we can deliver an internship that will get get you there.
We want to work with the vert best applicants and that means that we are driven not by accepting everyone that applies, but by only accepting applicants that we know will benefit greatly from a BeatBrdg music industry internship. We don't just assess your academic ability and history, we assess and value just as highly your drive, desire, and passion for our industry to make our decision.
We aim to communicate your application decision within 3/4 business days following your interview.
If your application has been accepted you will have up to 7 days to confirm your place by signing your internship contract and paying your tuition / fee deposit. As demand for internships always outstrips potential opportunities we cannot hold offers open any longer than this, as doing so disadvantages other applicants especially during peak application times.
TUITION / FEES
The tuition / fees vary based on the length of your internship, and also what city you decide to do your internship in. Tuition is billed in USD dollars or GBP pounds, and can be viewed in full on the fees and dates page, or the destination page where you can also see exactly what is included.
The tuition / fee deposit of £600 / $750 will become due within 7 days of your application being accepted, after you have signed the internship contract. If you have applied successfully for an internship of 20 weeks or more, the tuition / fee deposit is £850 / $1,050.
If your application is not accepted, then you will not be asked to pay a tuition / fee deposit, and your application will be closed.
The tuition / fee balance (total tuition / fee minus deposit paid) will be requested once your internship advisor confirms receipt of a written offer from one of our partner companies for your internship.
Of course! If your application is accepted then we guarantee to deliver your internship by placing you with one of our industry partners in the sector you have requested, for the length of internship you have requested, in the city of your choice. That is the BeatBrdg guarantee.

INCLUSIONS

We help applicants secure visas and can guide you on the appropriate process and pathway to secure the right visa for your internship. Visa assistance is included in your tuition / fees.
Yes, we introduce applicants to insurance underwriters that can issue policies that cover the most common travel and internship risks including, loss of travel documentation, missed flights, loss of property, personal injury, and internship / workplace cover.
We work directly with established and reputable housing providers that offer private and shared room housing in centrally located properties shared with other interns and international students.
If you have selected an internship with housing, we will confirm your housing within a week of finalising your internship. If you have booked housing through BeatBrdg we will request your deposit or payment at this time.
If you are booking your housing independently, we recommend that you confirm your booking once your internship has been confirmed.
Yes. Your internship advisor can assist with the process if your application is accepted.
Your internship advisor can advise on the process and steps required, if your application is accepted, as you may need BeatBrdg to supply documentation for your award to be released.
Your internship advisor can provide a template document to be signed by the three parties, if your application is accepted.
SUPPORT
Making sure that you are ready, prepared and confidently looking forward to your internship is one of our priorities, and is achieved through comprehensive pre-departure advice, planning and support, and ensuring that you have access to our local city advisors who are on hand 24-hours a day to assist in case of emergency, to provide on the ground guidance or even just to meet for a coffee.
In your 'welcome pack' you'll find a pre-departure checklist of important items to take and things to know in advance, tailored to your destination city. Information on local transport and how to get around, whether you can drink the water, what's on, our contact details, your internship location details and mentors details, are all included to help you settle in quickly and focus on what's important – enjoying the experience!

Internships are normally unpaid primarily because they are arranged on a bespoke basis with the partner creating the role directly for you, with the focus being on what you can learn, not what you can earn.
We understand that in an ideal world all internships would be paid, and over time we expect more and more internships to be paid, and are active advocates for this.
It is possible to earn academic credit, however this does depend on the specific internship policies of your college. To earn credit you should first talk to your course advisor or visit your college website to determine the requirements. Once you confirm eligibility, we will ensure that your internship is compliant.
ACTIVITIES
We actively encourage you to explore, enjoy and get to know your new city, whatever that means for you! Some interns go on group visits and excursions, while others arrange their own days out or plan things to do with BeatBrdg interns, or follow recommendations made by their local advisors.
BeatBrdg promotes independent travel, and so we do not offer a fixed schedule of events during your internship, however your local advisor can recommend local events that you and other interns might want to join, and your 'welcome pack' highlights some of the best music-related things to do, visit, experience and see.
JOBS / EMPLOYMENT
While we focus on building great internships for our applicants, we recognise the competitive nature of the industry and the benefits of continuing to help our interns through our alumni network and group.
When you complete your internship, we will work to understand your next goals. For most BeatBrdg interns that will mean going back to completing your course and graduating, but for others, it means beginning to look for that first job.
Leveraging your new found experience and our partner network, we can help identify the best career path for you, and in some cases make recommendations and introductions to direct roles or hiring partners
If you are a BeatBrdg alum, then get in touch and schedule a call to discuss your goals, and we can discuss how we can help. Please also make sure you reach out via the BeatBrdg alumni group chat, which you should have already been included in.
If you are not a BeatBrdg alum, we will not be able to help you find employment at this point, but do check back as we will soon be branching into direct job recruitment for non-BeatBrdg applicants.
The BeatBrdg alumni group is a group consisting past interns, BeatBrdg staff, industry partners and advisors, and is used to circulate job opportunities (in some cases before they are even advertised), keep up with industry news and moves, and keep up to date with how our alum are doing. As most BeatBrdg alum enter the music industry or seek to enter the industry when they graduate, the BeatBrdg alumni group continues to grow and in doing so becomes even more valuable as a resource to our growing number of alumni.
