BeatBrg: What Do My Tuition Fees Cover, Visas & Financial Aid

BeatBrdg Resources

Tuition Fees are the fees that we charge to deliver your program, and go towards the costs of arranging the internship, providing applicant support at all stages of the process, running our alumni network, and the costs of the other elements of the service as shown below.

Tuition Fees are paid by the applicant, and are made up of two parts – 1. The initial deposit, and 2. The final balance.

The Program Deposit

Your deposit is paid once you have signed the Internship Agreement. Deposit amount due will depend on the length of internship you have chosen, and is either £600 / $750 (for internships up to 16 weeks), or £850 / $1,050 for internships of 20 weeks and over.

*You will only pay the initial deposit if your application is approved and you have signed the internship agreement. If, after completing the application process, your application is not accepted there will be no cost to you.

The Final Balance

The final balance (consisting the total tuition fee minus the initial deposit) will become due for payment once we receive confirmation of your internship via a written offer from one of our host internship companies.

Final balances payments normally become due 30-60 days after we begin work on your application, however this may change depending on how close your internship start date is, and whether we need to expedite the process to meet this date.

What Do My Tuition Fees Go Towards?

Tuition Fees are used to cover three main costs:

Placement Arrangement, Support Team Assistance, and General Operating Costs.

Placement Arrangement

This is by far the largest part of where your Program Fees go. We invest a lot of 1-1 time with every applicant during the entire process right up to and after the internship has finished, and do the same with our partners, introducing applicants to them, and then negotiating on the applicants behalf to ensure that we deliver a unique and rewarding internship experience for the applicant. Though not a tangible benefit, we also include ‘certainty’ in this section, as we guarantee to deliver your internship if your application is accepted, and that provides you with the ability to plan ahead, knowing that your placement has been professionally arranged.

Program, Admin and Support Team Assistance

Critical to the succesful delivery of your program. These 3 teams manage the administration of all of our programs, from the issuing and checking of agreements, booking calls with partners, assisting in arranging visas and housing on behalf of accepted applicants, and helping to ensure that every experience runs smoothly. Our on the ground city co-ordinators are also included here – their role is critical as they represent the business in each of the cities we work in, and are available 24-hours a day offering assistance, advice and emergency support, whenever called upon.

General Operating Costs

A small part of every applicants Tuition Fees go towards the running of the business, which includes staff and office running costs, the costs of operating our campus outreach programs, and our growing alumni network.

Visas

Depending on which country you will be interning in, your personal status, and the length of internship you are planning to undertake, you may need a visa to travel or intern.

We provide applicants with guidance and advice to determine the most appropriate visa and application pathway based on your circumstances, and then work with you to secure the right visa, first time. Please note that visa application costs and fees are not included in the tuition / fees, and applicants should always factor in time to receive their visas when selecting their internship start date.

Financial Aid – Scholarships

If you’re a student interested in applying to our internship programs, the cost can sometimes be a concern despite the strong return on investment. However, there are many scholarships and grants available that can help reduce some of these costs, that you may want to research further. Below we’ve created a short flow to help you navigate and possibly secure some financial assistance.

1. Start With Your Schools Finacial Aid Office

Many schools have scholarships and grants specifically designed for students pursuing internships abroad. Check with your school’s financial aid office to see what resources they have available. Some schools may offer funding for specific programs or fields of study. They may also be able to provide guidance on how to apply for external funding.

2. Narrow Down Your Options & Prepare Your Applications

Once you have a list of potential scholarships and grants, it’s time to narrow down your options, and prepare your applications. Look at the eligibility criteria, application requirements, and deadline for each opportunity. Eliminate any that you don’t meet the requirements for or those with deadlines that you cannot meet. You should also consider the amount of funding offered and how it aligns with your financial needs. Once you have narrowed down your options, it’s time to prepare your application. Most scholarships and grants require a written essay or personal statement, along with other supporting documents such as a resume, transcripts, and letters of recommendation. Be sure to follow the instructions carefully and submit all required materials by the deadline. We can assist with budgeting and helping to plan your costs, if we accept your application.

3. Follow Up On Your Applications, and Keep Us Informed.

After you submit your applications, follow up with the organisations to confirm that they were received. Some organisations may also request interviews or request additional information before making a decision. Be sure to respond, and let us know if you require us to provide any documentation or proof of your internships status.

By taking advantage of scholarships and grants, you can make your BeatBrdg experience more affordable and accessible. Starting your search early, and making sure to give yourself enough time to complete the application process can make a big difference.

If you are not successful in securing financial assistance externally, BeatBrdg offers 20% scholarships (tuition fee reduction) to sucessful applicants that can demonstrate a real need for assistance and meet our scholarship eligibility criteria. If you intend to apply for a BeatBrdg scholarship to help with your overseas experience costs, please let your application adviser know during your telephone interview.

Scholarship Application Criteria – Applicants must be able to demonstrate current and previous academic excellence through their grades or GPA, show tangible evidence of excellence in a music-related activity or field, submit a written letter to support their application illustrating the reasons for the application, and be able to provide one academic and one personal reference.
